Super Bowl 50 is an American soccer game to defeat National Football League (NFL) champions for the 2015 season. The American Football Conference (AFC) champion Denver Broncos defeated the National Football champion (NFC) Carolina Panthers. This game is played on February 7, 2016, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California (located in San Francisco Bay Area). As this is the 50th Super Bowl game, the league emphasizes "golden birthday" with gold-themed initiatives during the 2015 season, and suspends the naming tradition of every Super Bowl game with Roman numerals (where the game will have been known as "Super Bowl L" ), so the logo can display Arabic 50 clearly.
The Panthers finished the regular season with a 15-1 record, defeating top league violations, and Newton Cam quarterback named NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP). They defeated the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 at the NFC Championship Game and advanced to their second Super Bowl appearance since the franchise began playing in 1995. The Broncos completed a regular season with a 12-4 record, reinforced by having the league's top defense and the presence of early quarterback veterans and winners Super Bowl XLI Peyton Manning. The Broncos defeated Super Bowl Super Bowl champions New England Patriots 20-18 in the AFC Championship Game joining the Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Steelers as one of four teams who have made eight appearances in the Super Bowl. The record will be broken next season, by 2017, when the Patriots advance to their ninth Super Bowl appearance at Super Bowl LI.
The Broncos leads first in the Super Bowl 50 and never lags. Denver recorded seven sacks and imposed four turnovers. Carolina also kept stepping by recording five sacks and forcing two turnovers. Denver linebacker Von Miller is named Super Bowl MVP. This game is also the last game of Peyton Manning's career; he announced his resignation on March 7, 2016.
CBS game broadcast is the third most watched program in American television history with an average of 111.9 million viewers. The network is charged an average of $ 5 million for 30-second ads during the game. It remains the highest-rated program in CBS history. The Halftime Super Bowl 50 show starred with Coldplay, with special guest stars Beyoncà © à © and Bruno Mars.

In early 2012, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated that the league plans to make the 50th Super Bowl "spectacular" and it will be "an important game for us as a league".
The cities included in the initial discussion or those who made the bid include:
- AT & T Stadium in Arlington, Texas
- Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana
- Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California
- Sun Life Stadium at Miami Gardens, Florida
- CenturyLink Square in Seattle, Washington
- Unknown stadium in the Los Angeles metropolitan area of ââCalifornia. The offer of Los Angeles (intended to be a tribute to the first Super Bowl, held at Memorial Coliseum in the city) depends on the team that moved to the area at the time the site was selected and has a new stadium built by the game. No team was required to move on when the site was selected, and Los Angeles withdraws from consideration. Los Angeles is then considered for the Super Bowl LIV.
The league has finally narrowed its bid to three sites: New Orleans' Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Sun Life Miami Stadium, and Levi's San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
League announced on October 16, 2012, that the two finalists are Sun Life Stadium and Levi's Stadium. The South Florida/Miami area has previously hosted 10 events (most tied with New Orleans), with the most recent being the Super Bowl XLIV in 2010. The San Francisco Bay Area was last held in 1985 (Super Bowl XIX), held at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California, was won by the home team of 49ers. Miami's offer depends on whether the stadium is undergoing renovation. However, on May 3, 2013, the Florida legislature refused to approve a funding plan to pay for the renovation, delivering a significant blow to Miami's chances.
On May 21, 2013, NFL owners at their spring meeting in Boston voted and gave match prizes to Levi's Stadium. The $ 1.2 billion stadium opened in 2014. It was the first Super Bowl to be held in the San Francisco Bay Area since Super Bowl XIX in 1985, and the first in California since the Super Bowl XXXVII took place in San Diego in 2003.
Team
For the third consecutive season, the number one seeds in the NFC and AFC, the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, met at the Super Bowl. The game also features top-scoring offense leagues (Panthers) against the league's defense (Broncos). The Panthers became the 10th team since 1960 to lose just one game during the regular season, and the sixth team that once had a 15-1 record. It was their second Super Bowl appearance; the other is Super Bowl XXXVIII. The Broncos became the fourth team to have eight Super Bowl appearances. It was their second appearance in three years, after also reaching Super Bowl XLVIII. Incidentally, John Fox is the head coach of each team in the previous Super Bowl appearance.
Carolina Panthers
Despite the long dismissal of DeAngelo Williams and the loss of wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to the split ACL in the pre-season, the Carolina Panthers have their best regular season in franchise history, becoming the seventh team to win at least 15 regular-season games since the league expanded to 16 matches in the year 1978. Carolina started the season 14-0, not only setting the franchise record for best start and winning streak of one of the longest seasons but also posting the best start to a season by the NFC team in NFL history, breaking the previously shared 13-0 to the New Orleans Saints 2009 and the Green Bay Packers 2011. With their NFC's best regular 15-1 season record, the Panthers took the lead in the field throughout the NFC playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Ten players are selected for Pro Bowl (the most in franchise history) along with eight All-Pro options.
Violations The Panthers, who lead the NFL in scoring (500 points), are filled with talent, boasting six Pro Bowl options. Pro Bowl quarterback Cam Newton has one of his best seasons, throwing for 3,837 yards and rushing for 636 yards, while noting 45 high-career and high league groups (35 passing, 10 rushing), career-low 10 interceptions, and best quarterback career from 99.4. Newton's main recipient is a tight ending Greg Olsen, who captured 77 high passes for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns, and wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who captured 44 passes for 739 yards and 10 touchdowns; Ginn also rushed for 60 yards and returned 27 punts for 277 yards. Other key recipients include veterans Jerricho Cotchery (39 receptions for 485 meters), rookie Devin Funchess (31 receptions for 473 meters and five touchdowns), and second-year recipient Corey Brown (31 receptions for 447 meters). Backfield Panthers' Pro Bowl run back Jonathan Stewart, who led the team with a rushing 989 yards and six goals in 13 games, along with Pro Bowl defender Mike Tolbert, who rushed for 256 yards and caught 18 tickets for another 154 yards. The Carolina offensive line also features two Pro Bowl options: the center of Ryan Kalil and keeper Trai Turner.
The Panthers defense surrendered just 308 points, ranked sixth in the league, while also leading the NFL in interceptions with 24 and boasting four Pro Bowl options. Pro Bowl Resistance handles Kawann Short leading the team in the sack by 11, while also forcing three fumbles and restoring two. Fellow lineman Mario Addison added 6ý sacks. The Panthers defense line also features veteran defensive Jared Allen, five Pro Bowl selections, who are active NFL career leaders with 136, along with final defensive Kony Ealy, who has five sacks in only nine starts. Behind them, two of the early three Panthers midfielders were also selected to play in the Pro Bowl: Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly. Davis composed 5.5 sacks, four forced groping, and four interceptions, while Kuechly led the team in tackling (118) forcing two fumbles, and intercepting four passes of his own. Secondary safety features Carolina Pro Bowl Kurt Coleman, who leads the team with seven career-high interceptions, while also extorting 88 Pro Bowl tackles and cornerbacks Josh Norman, who grew into a shutdown corner during the season and has four interceptions, two of which are returned for touchdown.
Denver Broncos
After losing the playoffs for three of the previous four seasons, Denver Broncos general manager John Elway made many coaching changes, including a farewell to head coach John Fox, who has won four division championships in four years as head coach of the Broncos, was replaced in that role by Gary Kubiak, former Elway backup lineman and former Broncos offensive coordinator. Wade Phillips, former head coach of the Broncos, returned to the team to serve his second job as a defensive coordinator, replacing Jack Del Rio who has gone to take leadership jobs at Oakland Raiders. The team lost 43-8 at the Super Bowl XLVIII two years earlier, despite holding offense over the regular season, resulting in Elway signing DeMarcus Ware's final defensive, Aqib Talib cornerback, safety of T. J. Ward, and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders for the 2014 season.
Under Kubiak, the Broncos plan to install a run-oriented attack with zone blocking to blend in the style of Peyton Manning's midfield shots, but struggled with many changes and injuries on the offensive line, as well as Manning's aging has had its worst statistical season. since his rookie year with the Indianapolis Colts in 1998. In addition to turning 39 in offseason 2015, Manning injured plantar fasciitis in his heels during the summer. Although the team had a 7-0 start, Manning led the NFL in interceptions. On Sunday 10th, Manning suffered a partial tear from the plantar fascia on his left leg. He set an all-time NFL record to pass the career yard in this game, but after throwing four interceptions, he was defended in favor of quarterback Brock Osweiler, who took over as a starter for much of the rest of the regular season. After a slow start in Denver's last regular season game against San Diego, the Osweiler was brought down to restore Manning. Manning reclaimed the early quarterback position for the playoffs by leading the team to a 27-20 key victory that allowed the team to reach No. 1. 1 from AFC. Under defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who replaced his elaborate predecessor read-and-react scheme with a simple aggressive approach of attacking the ball, the Broncos defense was ranked 1st in the permitted total yard, past the allowed yard and sack, and as before three seasons, the team continues to organize many individual records, leagues and franchises. With the defense bringing the team despite problems with the offense, the Broncos finished the regular season with a 12-4 record and earned home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
Manning ended the year with a career of 67.9 passengers, throwing for 2,249 yards and nine goals, with 17 interceptions. Osweiler throws for 1,967 meters and installs a better TD: INT ratio (10 goals to six interceptions) for a rating higher than 86.4, but remains benched during postseason that supports Manning. Veteran recipient Demaryius Thomas leads the team with 105 receptions for 1,304 yards and six touchdowns, while Emmanuel Sanders captures 76 tickets for 1,135 yards and six scores, while adding more punts for 106 yards. Tight Owen Daniels is also a great element of the passing game with 46 receptions for 517 meters. Running back C. J. Anderson is an 863 yard leading rusher team and seven goals, while also capturing 25 passes for 183 yards. Ronnie Hillman's re-run also made a big impact with 720 yards, five touchdowns, 24 receptions, and 4.2 meters per carry average. Overall, the violation ranked 19th in the assessment with 355 points and has no Pro Bowl option.
The Broncos defense ranked first in the NFL yard allowed (4,530) for the first time in franchise history, and fourth in allowable points (296). Defensive ends Derek Wolfe and Malik Jackson each have 5ý sacks. Linburner Pro Bowl Von Miller leads the team with 11 sacks, forcing four to grope, and recover three. Linebacker DeMarcus Ware was selected to play in Pro Bowl for the ninth time of his career, second in the team with 7ý sacks. Linebacker Brandon Marshall led the team in handling a total of 109, while Danny Trevathan was ranked second with 102 tackles. Cornerbacks Aqib Talib (three interceptions) and Chris Harris Jr. (two interception) are the other two Pro Bowl options from defense, though none of the players selected for Pro Bowl participate because the Broncos reach the Super Bowl 50.
Playoffs
The Panthers beat Seattle Seahawks 31-24 in the NFC division round. The Panthers then defeated the Arizona Cardinals in the 49-15 NFC Championship Game, collecting 487 yards and forcing seven turnovers.
The Broncos beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-16 in the AFC division, scoring 11 points in the final three minutes of the game. The following week, they beat the defending Super Bowl XLIX champion New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game 20-18, by intercepting the pass on a New England 2 points conversion effort with 17 seconds left on the hour and restoring the next onside effort kick.
Pre-match note
Carolina suffered a major setback when Thomas Davis, an 11-year veteran who has overcome three ACL tears in his career, got off with a broken arm in the NFC Championship. Nonetheless, he insisted he would still find a way to play in the Super Bowl. His prediction was accurate and he made it into the starting lineup.
Peyton Manning reached his fourth Super Bowl, with appearances under as many head coaches (Tony Dungy, Jim Caldwell, John Fox, and Gary Kubiak). He became the first quarterback to lead two different teams to several Super Bowls. He is also the oldest quarterback ever to play in the Super Bowl at the age of 39 years. The previous record was held by John Elway, who led the Broncos to victory in Super Bowl XXXIII at the age of 38 and is currently the Denver Football Operations Executive Vice President and General Manager.
Manning and Newton recorded the biggest age difference between Super Bowl quarterbacks in 13 years and 48 days (Manning is 39, Newton 26). In addition, this is the first Super Bowl featuring quarterbacks on both teams who are the number 1 players in their draft class. Manning was the # 1 selection of the NFL Draft 1998, while Newton was chosen for the first time in 2011. The fight also garnered two top choices from the 2011 draft against each other: Newton for Carolina and Von Miller for Denver.
With Ron Rivera being a linebacker with Chicago Bears on Super Bowl XX, and Kubiak replacing Elway at the end of the Broncos defeat at Super Bowl XXI and XXIV, this is the first Super Bowl in which both head coaches play in the game themselves; Coincidentally, the coaches they played, Mike Ditka (Rivera) and Dan Reeves (Kubiak), not only have their own Super Bowl experience but have done it as teammates with Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V and VI (and working together as assistants Cowboys trainers for Super Bowls X, XII and XIII).
Concerns raised whether Levi Stadium field has a high enough quality to host the Super Bowl; during the inaugural season, the field had to be re-immersed several times due to various problems, and earlier in the 2015 season, parts of the area collapsed under Baltimore Ravens Justin Tucker shooter, causing him to slip and miss field targets, even though the pitch has had no major problems since. As usual for the Super Bowl game played at the natural grass stadium, the NFL re-dives the surface of the Bermuda 419 turban game before the game; NFL and Atlanta Braves field directors Ed Mangan stated that the pitch was in "very good" shape for the match. However, the grass shows problems throughout the game, with some players needing to change their cleats during the game and the player slips while playing throughout the game.
As the home team designated in the annual rotation between the AFC and NFC teams, the Broncos chose to wear their white street shirts with matching white pants. Elway stated, "We've got the Super Bowl in our white uniform." The Broncos last wore a white uniform and a Super Bowl pants in Super Bowl XXXIII, Elway's last match as Denver QB, when they defeated Atlanta Falcons 34-19. In their only Super Bowl victory at Super Bowl XXXII, Denver wore a blue T-shirt, which was their main color at the time. They also lost Super Bowl XXI when they were wearing a white T-shirt, but they were 0-4 in the Super Bowl while wearing orange shirts, losing in Super Bowl XII, XXII, XXIV, and XLVIII. The only other AFC champion team dressed in white attire as the designated home team at the Super Bowl is the Pittsburgh Steelers; they beat Seattle Seahawks 21-10 in the Super Bowl XL 10 seasons earlier. The Broncos' decision to wear white clothes meant Panthers would be wearing their standard home uniform: a black shirt with silver pants.
Team facility
The Panthers use San Jose State training facilities and live in San Jose Marriott. Broncos trained at Stanford University and stayed at the Santa Clara Marriott.
Marketing
On June 4, 2014, the NFL announced that the game would be branded with Arabic numerals as "Super Bowl 50" - than with Roman numerals, a practice founded in Super Bowl V where the game would be known as "Super Bowl L". NFL creative director Shandon Melvin explains that the main reason for change is the difficulty in designing the aesthetic logo with the letter "L" using a standard logo template introduced in Super Bowl XLV. He notes that "L" is more difficult to design because it is asymmetric unlike other Roman numerals, and also shows the concern that the use of the letter "L" can be interpreted as a "loser" hand movement. 73 different models, incorporating either "L" or "50", were designed before the final design was chosen, featuring large gold-colored figures behind the Vince Lombardi Trophy, not below and silver as in standard logos.
Binding to the golden "birthday" games, various promotions and gold-themed initiatives are held throughout the 2015 NFL season. The league adopts the gold-colored logo, which is applied in all NFL properties and is painted in the fields during the season. The 50-yard line numbering in the fields is colored with gold, and starting on Sunday 7, all jackets and cover hats feature gold-trimmed logos. The gold ball is given to high school players and coaches who have participated in the Super Bowl, and the "homecoming" event is also held by teams that won the Super Bowl in various games.
Ten statues themed "50" were placed in locations in San Francisco to promote the game; However, due to the negativity of the game by city dwellers, the statues were primarily targeted by intruders, with the words "SUPER BOWL 50" in their base rearranged to form other phrases such as "SUPERB OWL", "SUP BRO 50", and after the Alamo statue Square overthrown, "OOPS".
Super Bowl week event
The annual NFL experience was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. In addition, "Super Bowl City" opened on January 30th at Justin Herman Plaza in The Embarcadero, which features exhibits featuring Bay Area culture. More than a million people are expected to attend the celebrations in San Francisco during the Super Bowl week. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said about the presence of the highly visible homeless in this area "they must go". The San Francisco city supervisor Jane Kim failed to lobby the NFL to return the $ 5 million cost of city services to San Francisco.
The committee announced plans worth $ 2 million for other additional events, including a week's event at the Santa Clara Convention Center, a beer, wine and food festival at Bellomy Field at Santa Clara University, and a battle rally. The city council announced plans to set aside initial funding for the event. For the first time, the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee and the NFL openly look for businesses owned by LGBT communities and disabled veterans for Business Connect, a program that gives local companies the opportunity to contract in and around the Super Bowl.
The day of the gaming media, usually held on Tuesday afternoon before the game, was moved to Monday night and re-branded as the Super Bowl Opening Night. The event was held on February 1, 2016 at the SAP Center in San Jose. Along with the availability of traditional media, the show features an opening ceremony with the introduction of players on a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Philanthropy
The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee has vowed to be "the most giving Super Bowl ever", and will dedicate 25 percent of all the money it earns to philanthropists in the Bay Area. The committee created funding 50 as a philanthropic initiative and focused on providing grants to help with youth development, community investment and a sustainable environment.
Trophy
In addition to the Vince Lombardi Trophy received by all Super Bowl champions, the Broncos also received gold, 18-carat "50". Each digit weighs 33 pounds (15 kg) for a total of 66 pounds (30 kg). Like the Lombardi Trophy, "50" is designed by Tiffany & amp; Together.
Volunteers
After making calls for volunteers in June 2015, over 450 volunteers helped to make the 50 Super Bowl Tour happen. More than 5,000 volunteers are ready to help with events ahead of, during and after the Super Bowl 50 as well. Volunteers sign up for shifts of at least 3-4 hours, and some volunteers give more than 200 hours of their time during the week. As a thank-you for volunteering, the volunteers were given backpacks and uniforms.

Broadcasting
AS. television
In the United States, the game is broadcast by CBS, as part of a cycle between the three major NFL broadcast television partners. The main network broadcasting teams from Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are called contests, with Tracy Wolfson and Evan Washburn on the sidelines. CBS provides a digital stream of games through CBSSports.com, and CBS Sports app on tablets, Windows 10, Xbox One, and other digital media players (like Chromecast and Roku). Due to Verizon Communications' exclusive mobile rights to NGL, streaming on smartphones is only provided to Verizon Wireless customers through the NFL Mobile service. It will also prove to be the last Super Bowl called Phil Simms as a color commentator, as he will serve his final season as a premier color commentator next season before moving to The NFL Today in 2017, where he will be replaced by Tony. Father.
CBS introduces new features during broadcasts, including pylon cameras and microphones, and Intel's freeD (an on-air branded instant replay technology like EyeVision 360) - uses a 36K resolution camera array along the top deck used to provide a 360-degree view of drama and the effect of "bullet time" (previous versions of EyeVision last used on Super Bowl XXXV), and the main re-branding debut of the CBS Sports Division, including new logos and aerial charts.
On December 28, 2015, ESPN announced that it had reached an agreement with CBS and NFL to provide Spanish-language broadcasts of the Super Bowl 50, which aired on ESPN Deportes and streamed on WatchESPN, featuring commentary and surrounding coverage in the language; unlike Fox and NBC, CBS does not have a Spanish cable network that can carry such broadcasts. Production uses CBS videos, but with Spanish-language graphics provided by ESPN, and Alvaro Martin's football commentant's Monday Football kick, Raul Allegre and John Sutcliffe's side reporter. ESPN Deportes broadcast pre-match and post-game coverage, while Martin, Allegre, and Sutcliffe also contributed a report to ESPN in English as part of an effort to promote the simulcast broadcast. EPRN Deportes Programming Vice President Freddy Rolon feels that dedicated Spanish language coverage for Hispanic audience is better than Spanish comments on SAP's audio channel, further saying that "I have family members watching Spanish-language TV and they do not know where the SAP button is it starts with ".
Unlike the primetime series, CBS broadcasts a special episode of a late-night talk show as the main program for the Super Bowl 50, starting with a special live episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert following the game, with a sketch featuring pre- - a recording by Barack Obama, and guests Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Margot Robbie, and Megyn Kelly. After a break for late local programming, CBS also aired the special episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden .
With an average TV audience of 111.9 million, this game is the third most watched Super Bowl - and the third most watched US program - in history, according to Nielsen ratings. It is also the most watched program of all time in terms of the number of viewers, 167 million, which measures those who see at least six minutes of broadcast. Average views are the industry standard for determining television ratings, while total audiences are additional metrics. Spanish broadcasts on ESPN Deportes are viewed by an average of 472,000 viewers; ranking behind the Super Bowl XLVIII as the second Spanish-language cable broadcast in US history, outside of football matches.
Ads
CBS set the base rate for a 30-second ad for $ 5,000,000, a record high price for Super Bowl ads. On January 26th, ads have not sold out. CBS mandates that all advertisers purchase packages that include time on television broadcasts and digital broadcasts of the game, which means that for the first time, the digital stream of the game will bring all national advertising in a pattern with television broadcasts. This will be the last year in a multi-year contract with Anheuser-Busch InBev that allows brewers to broadcast multiple advertisements during a game at sharp discounts. It was also the last year that Doritos, the longtime sponsor of the game, held a "Crash the Super Bowl" contest allowing viewers to create their own Doritos ad for the opportunity to air during the game. Nintendo and The Poké à © mon Company also made their Super Bowl debut, Hyundai placed in first place and fifth respectively on Super Bowl Ad Meter survey, with they are advertising "First Date" (for Hyundai Genesis) and "Ryanville" (for Hyundai Elantra 2017).
The first advertisers on the Super Bowl 50 included Amazon.com, Colgate toothpaste, Death Wish Coffee (which beat 10 other small businesses in a contest hosted by Intuit, who paid advertising time as a gift), LG Electronics, Marmot, Nintendo the 20th year of the Poké franchise, PayPal, and SoFi.
20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, and Walt Disney Studios paid for movie trailers to air during Super Bowl. Fox paid Deadpool , X-Men: Apocalypse , Independence Day: Resurrection and Eddie the Eagle , Lionsgate paid for Egyptian God , Paramount pays for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and 10 Cloverfield Lane , Universal is paid for The Secret Life of Pets and the first trailer for Jason Bourne and Disney pays for Captain America: Civil War The Jungle Book and > Alice Through the Looking Glass .

National coverage
Westwood One brought the game across North America, with Kevin Harlan as a play-by-play announcer, Boomer Esiason and Dan Fouts as color analysts, and James Lofton and Mark Malone as side reporters. Jim Gray put up a pre-match and part-time lineup.
Local market coverage
The main station of each station in the market of each team carries their local play-by-play call. In Denver, KOA (850 AM) and KRFX (103.5 FM) brought the game, with Dave Logan in play-by-play and Ed McCaffrey on the color comments. In North Carolina, WBT (1110 AM) carries the game, with Mick Mixon in play-by-play and Eugene Robinson and Jim Szoke on color comments. WBT also performs simulcast games at its brother station WBT-FM (99.3 FM), based in Chester, South Carolina. Since both KOA and WBT are clear channel stations, local broadcasts can be heard in most western United States areas after sunset (for Denver) and the eastern United States throughout the game (for Carolina). In accordance with the contract rules, the rest of the stations on the Broncos and Panthers radio networks carry Westwood One feeds or do not broadcast the game at all.
International broadcast
In the United Kingdom, BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Live Sports Extra held a contest. As in previous years, the BBC aired its free commercial English broadcast, with Greg Brady, Darren Fletcher and Rocky Boiman for his comments.
Entertainment
Pre-game
In honor of the 50th Super Bowl, the pregame ceremony featured an introduction on the field from 39 of the 43 Most Valuable Super Bowl Players ever. Bart Starr (MVP of Super Bowl I and II) and Chuck Howley (MVP of the Super Bowl V) appear through the video. Harvey Martin, co-MVP Super Bowl XII who died in 2001, was recognized when another MVP of the Super Bowl XII, Randy White, was introduced. Peyton Manning (Super Bowl XLI MVP and early quarterback Broncos for gaming) is shown in the dressing room to prepare for the game. The ceremony continued a ten-year tradition (starting with the Super Bowl XX and then repeated in the Super Bowl XXX and Super Bowl XL) where the MVP's past Super Bowl was honored before the game.
Lady Gaga (accompanied by Alex Smith at the piano) sings the national anthem, while Marlee Matlin simultaneously displays the American Sign Language (ASL) version. Matlin also signed the acappella version of "America the Beautiful", which was sung by the US Armed Forces choir.
Show first half
At the end of November 2015, reports emerged that "some measures" would be taken during the showdown. On 3 December, the league confirmed that the event will be headlines by British rock band Coldplay. On January 7, 2016, Pepsi confirmed to the Associated Press that Beyoncà © à ©, who headlined the Super Bowl XLVII gig show and collaborated with Coldplay on the single "Hymn for the Weekend" (which was removed from the setlist before the game), will make an appearance. Bruno Mars, who was the headline of the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show, and Mark Ronson (Mars collaborator on "Uptown Funk") also performed.
Game summary
First half
Denver started the opening game of the Super Bowl 50 and started strongly. Quarterback Peyton Manning completed an 18-yard pass to end Owen Daniels and threw 22-yard wide receiver Andre Caldwell. The pair carried with a run back C. J. Anderson moved the ball 20 yards into the 14-yard Panthers line, but the Carolina defense was dug for the next three plays. First, midfielder Shaq Thompson handled a run back Ronnie Hillman for a 3-yard loss. Then after incompleteness, midfielder Thomas Davis tackled Anderson for a 1-yard advantage on third down, forcing Denver to settle for a 3-0 lead on a 34-yard Brandon McManus field goal. The score marked the first time across the postseason that Carolina faced a deficit.
After each team cheats, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton appears to complete a 24-yard pass to the wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery, but the call decides a settlement and is enforced after a replay challenge. CBS analyst and retired referee Mike Carey stated he disagreed with the call and felt the review clearly showed the pass was over. Two plays later, on 3-and-10 from the 15-yard line, midfielder Von Miller knocked the ball out of Newton's hands while firing him, and defensive midfielder Malik Jackson recovered him in the final zone for the Broncos touchdown, giving the team a 10-0 lead. This is the first back touchdown in the Super Bowl since the Super Bowl XXVIII at the end of the 1993 season.
After getting support from both teams, Carolina managed to get a 9-play, 73-yard scorer. Newton completed all four of his operating efforts for 51 yards and rushed twice for 25 yards, while Jonathan Stewart completed the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, cutting the score to 10-7 with 11:28 remaining in the second quarter. Later, the recipient of Broncos Jordan Norwood received a short 28-page rendering of Brad Nortman surrounded by Panthers players, but none of them tried to make a tackle, apparently thinking Norwood had been called a fair catch. Norwood did not do it, and without any resistance around him, he went for a 61-yard Super Bowl record back before Mario Addison dragged him to the 14-yard Panther line. Despite the excellent Denver field position, they were unable to get the ball into the final zone, so McManus kicked a 33-yard field which boosted their lead to 13-7.
On Carolina's next possession, fullback Mike Tolbert lost when handled by safety Darian Stewart, whose midfielder Danny Trevathan recovered in the Broncos 40-yard line. However, the Panthers promptly took the ball back when Kony Ealy's late defending Manning intercepted, returning the 19-meter ball into the 39-yard Panther line with 1:55 left on the clock. The Panthers can not get yards with their possession and have to punt. After the Denver punt, Carolina drove to the 45-yard line of the Broncos. With 11 seconds remaining and no rest time, Newton was fired by DeMarcus Ware, causing his time for half to end.
Half seconds
The Panthers looked primed to score on their opening drive in the second half when Newton completed a 45-yard pass to Ted Ginn Jr., which was the longest leap from the game for both teams, in the 35-yard Denver line in their second offensive game. However, the Broncos defense stopped the drive on the 26-yard line, and it ended with no points when Graham Gano struck right upright on a 44-yard field goal effort. After the loss, Manning completed a pair of bait to Emmanuel Sanders for a 25 and 22 meter lead, setting up a 33-yard McManus field goal that gave the Broncos a 16-7 lead. Carolina dropped to a strong start after the kickoff, with Newton completing a 42-yard pass to Corey Brown. But then again they came empty, this time as a result of Newton's bait bouncing off Ginn's hand and intercepted by the safety of T. J. Ward. Ward fumbled the ball deep inside the Denver area during his return, but Trevathan was able to recover the ball that allowed Denver to maintain its position.
There will be no judgment in the third quarter, but at the beginning of the fourth, the Broncos advance to the 41-yard Panthers line. In the next game, Ealy struck the ball out of Manning's hand as he was winding to graduate, and then restored it to Carolina on the 50-yard line. A 16-yard reception by Devin Funchess and 12-yard run by Stewart then set a 39-yard Gano field goal, cutting the Panthers deficit to one score at 16-10. The next three drives of the game will end in punts.
With 4:51 remaining time left, Carolina gets the ball in their own 24-yard line with a chance to ride the winning drive, and immediately face the 3rd and 9th positions. In the next game, Miller disarmed away from Newton, and after several players swooped in, it took a long time to get up and found by Ward, who returned him five yards into the Panther's 4-yard line. Newton is the third player to try a recovery (following Ware and Mike Remmers) from the ball and while various angles appear to show that he has a decent recovery probability if he dives in his effort, Newton hesitates instead and then tries to knock over the ball, which failed. This split-second decision earned him criticism. Meanwhile, Denver's offense was kept out of the final zone for three dramas, but a penalty holding on cornerback Josh Norman gave the Broncos a new set of downs. Then Anderson scored on a 2-yard touchdown run and Manning completed a pass to Bennie Fowler for a 2-point convertible, giving Denver a 24-10 lead with 3:08 remaining and basically getting rid of the game. Carolina has two more drives and set the first one down between them before the game ends.

Super Bowl 50 displays many notes from individuals and both teams. Denver won despite a massive defeat in the total yard (315 to 194) and the first down (21 to 11). Their 194 yards and first 11 downs were the lowest total ever by the Super Bowl winning team, as the previous record was 244 yards by the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV. Only seven other teams ever won less than 200 yards in the Super Bowl, and all were lost. It was the first Super Bowl since Super Bowl XXXVI that the winning team scored only a single offensive goal, although the Broncos defense was earlier in the game scored from a misplaced recovery in the final zone. Seven Sacks of Broncos' tie up the Super Bowl record set by the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XX. Manning was fired five times by the Panthers, giving the highest total game (12) of the combined sack in Super Bowl history. Kony Ealy tied a Super Bowl record with three sacks, and was the only player to do it and record interception. The return of 59-yard back Jordan Norwood set a new record, surpassing the old 45 yard record set by John Taylor in Super Bowl XXIII. Denver is only 1-of-14 in third, while Carolina is 3-of-15. The third consecutive conversion percentage of all 13.8 teams is the lowest in Super Bowl history. Manning and Newton had ratings of quarterback riders 56.6 and 55.4, respectively, and their total added 112 was the lowest record for aggregate crossers for the Super Bowl. Manning became the oldest quarterback ever to win the Super Bowl at the age of 39, the first quarterback to win the Super Bowl start for two different teams, and the first quarterback to win 200 matches (regular and postseason seasons) as a starter. Gary Kubiak became the first head coach to win the Super Bowl with the same franchise he went to the Super Bowl with as a player.
Manning announced his retirement from the NFL a month after the Super Bowl. It is also the last game in Panthers defense midfielder Jared Allen, who retired as the NFL's ninth all-time leader in the sack.

Aftermath
The 2016 NFL season begins with the Broncos hosting the Panthers at the Sports Authority Field on Mile High. This is the first meeting of both Super Bowl participants during the 1st week of the following season since the 1970 season when Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs held a rematch of the Super Bowl IV to start the post-merger NFL era. The Broncos won 21-20 as Carolina Graham Gano missed a field effort goal to win the match.
Both teams will eventually struggle during this season and fail to qualify for the playoffs. The Panthers fall to 6-10 and finish in last place in NFC South. The Broncos fell to 9-7 and are in third place at AFC West. This is the first time the defending AFC and NFC champions will lose playoffs since the 2003 season, after the Super Bowl XXXVII, when both Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers qualified for the postseason, and fifth time overall.
