Trainer and host
The coach line changed once again for the thirteenth season. Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys did not return as coaches. They were replaced by Miley Cyrus, who returned after a one-season hiatus, along with returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Playoffs
Playoffs are recorded on August 31st and September 1st, and consist of episodes 15, 16, and 17. As in season 6, Playoffs have been recorded previously, not displaying an interactive audience voting component, and therefore no subsequent results are shown. As in the 9th, 10th and 12th seasons, four previously eliminated artists were selected by trainers to return to the Playoffs. This time, they are Natalie Stovall (elected by Blake Shelton), Lucas Holliday (elected by Jennifer Hudson), Karli Webster (taken by Miley Cyrus), and Whitney Fenimore (elected by Adam Levine).
This season is the first to have a playoff recorded on the same stage as Battles and the Knockouts. The best twenty-four artists perform for the coaches, with each coach selecting three artists from their team to be eliminated. Twelve other best artists advanced to live shows.
