History

The company was founded in 1954 and launched by the Southalls of Birmingham. They are based on a design made with Dr. Judith Esser-Mittag, a female gynecologist and expands the wide avenue to improve comfort and better protection. Initially two absorbances are available, Regular and Super, for different menstrual flow.

In 1958, Southall was acquired by Smith & amp; Nephews (S & N) and put into their Sanitation Protection Division, along with Arthur Berton Ltd, acquisition of S & amp; N other. This acquisition positions S & amp; N as the UK market leader in sanitary towels, under the brand name Dr. White and Lilia both with Lil-lets.

In 1994, Lil-lets tampon applicator was launched.

In 2000, management purchases (MBOs) by Accantia (now Simple) took ownership of the Lil-lets brand.

In 2001, Lil-lets launched Super plus Extra, a high absorption product (classified as 5 droplets by AHPMA, compared to Regular at 2 drops, Super on 3 and Super Plus at 4). It is the first in the UK, offering consumers with a large flow of specialist products.

In 2002, Lil-lets launched "Mixed Packs", with various absorbencies in each package, allowing consumers to purchase a pack to use different absorption for different flow rates over a period (often lighter at the beginning and end of the period). Solutions, a variety of intimate care products are also launched, featuring tissues, cleaning mousse and hot placemat to warm the stomach to help with period pain.

In 2005, Lil-lets launched pantyliners.

December 20, 2006, Lil-lets were sold to Electra Private Equity, and Lil-lets Group of Companies was formed, creating a stand-alone Feminine Hygiene business.

In 2007, Lil-lets launched a series of Sanitary Pads, making Lil-lets the only brand to cross all sectors of the Feminine Hygiene market - tampons, pads, pantyliners and intimate care.

In 2008, Lil-lets launched a range of compact applicators in direct competition with the market leader of Tampax, followed in 2009 by video ad campaigns showing the key differences between the two brands. Lil-lets tampons expand the wide avenue, with Tampax tampons expanding along them.

In 2012, Electra invested another equity of £ 7 million.

In November 2013, Electra sold Lil-lets to Premier Foods (Pty) Limited, a South African company.
