Last Man Standing or Last Team Standing ( LTS ) is the game mode of death match multiplayer gameplay displayed in some first-person computer and video shooter games, as well as the core of battle royale games. The goal of a player in the last man's last game is to send his opponents and remain the only survivor; the basic rules followed are generally the same as the Deathmatch gametype, with the important differences: respawn limited or not allowed at all. Each player is given a certain amount of life per game (or only one when there is no respawn); after this life has been released, the player will no longer be able to return to the current match and remain as an invisible viewer until there is a winner and the LMS round ends. In some games, players are called to buy or pick up items, while other titles will have players who give birth with full weapons and ammunition and no powerup is available on the map.

Several different variations of last man survive mode exist, with the most common being the LMS Team. The rules are the same as the standard LMS and the winning team is capable of eliminating all members of the opposing team and keeping at least one component alive.

Camping

In the Last Man Standing mode, camping, which is considered not social and dishonest, is very useful. A player can remain in hiding until the other players kill each other, so the majority of players have been eliminated. Players who are hiding now not only have the advantage of an extra life (the player is not killed many times by other players who keep moving), but also now have to fight fewer players, each of which has the disadvantage of a smaller number of lives. This means his chances of winning are clearly higher than others, with no skill involved. Therefore, it is often regarded as cheating.

Camping tends to gain time. Since camping is very useful, if everyone is hiding so wait until some players are eliminated, the game will not be allowed to continue.

Modern games, such as Unreal Tournament 2004 can detect from a player's movement if he is camping. If detected, the first player is alerted and if the player continues to camp, the action is taken according to the server rules (generally, the camper is removed from the game).

In a vehicle fighting game, camping can be prevented with a timeout clock that resets whenever a player hits a rival vehicle.

Battle royale games, such as Battlegrounds PlayerUnknown and Fortnite Battle Royale , prevent campers from gradually reducing the size of areas where competitors LMS can play, usually with a lethal energy field.. Any player who does not move to a safer ground because of a closed field will suffer continuous damage and eventually die if they fail to escape.
